To My Mother
May 11th, 2007 by b.reeder
It’s hard to say a mother’s toil
For sacrifice uncounted and uncountable
For love unconditional, and without spoil
For prayer and hope insurmountable
With every action and every thought
Every hope and every dream
Every lesson that they’ve taught
A price is paid- all sight unseen
And with this price their comes a joy
Of seeing all their sacrifice
Begin to flourish, learn, employ
Understand all their advice
And not enough is it ever said
Thank you thank you thank you!
For all the nights tucked into bed
For all the books always read
For all the hands you held and led
For all the times you chose me instead
So I hope you truly know
Exactly what I have to show
For all the things that you’ve given
For all mistakes you’ve forgiven
I am myself because of you
All my strength, all my courage
My faith, my love, all I pursue
All of it has come from you
So remember everyday
That I love you more than I can say
“Thank you” can’t possibly suffice
My appreciation for your sacrifice
I love you mom
